BBQ begins at 1:30 pm!!

Rodger Hunter says:

Dear Friends,

Sunday August 30  is Lower River Clean Up Day..  I hope that you can join us for a few hours of caring for our incredible watershed, fun and community building.

As indicated on the poster, Registration will be at the Little Big House – just past the Cowichan Tribes Gym.

From there you can join one of our team captains and head out to clean up the river.  Some people may choose to bring boats and rafts (we will have a few on hand) while others may prefer to walk an area of shoreline and clean it up.

Please see Things to Bring on the poster and please note that children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bottles and cans and other recyclables will be recycled and the rest will go to Byng’s Creek Transfer Station.

There will be a snack when you arrive to register and a barbecue at 1:30 pm.

We are very grateful to this years sponsors and  the Safe Youth Cowichan River Clean Up Team who are helping to make this event happen.  We are also grateful to the Cowichan Lake and River Stewards who offer their ongoing support to the Lower River Clean Up.

This year the Upper River clean up which was held on August 15 was another great success as I am sure our Lower River Clean Up will be with your support. and the support of your friends.

Please don’t hesitate to forward this to a friend.

Please come out on Sunday to participate in this annual event to support the health of our watershed.

Thank you,

Rodger Hunter,
Cowichan Watershed Board

PS  A watershed superhero may be showing up for the barbecue.
