Severe flooding throughout Cowichan Region Nov 15 2021

Historic rainfalls have caused massive flooding across BC and in Cowichan Region. 

Times Colonist: Flooding closes Malahat, Cowichan declares state of local emergency. Afternoon winds that followed the rain led to close to 48,000 power outages in the south Island by 4:30 p.m.

Cowichan Tribes reserves were evacuated due to flooding. Read Evacuation order here.  

Second and third storms expected to bring more floods a week later. Military helps with sandbagging on Halalt Reserve.
