The Cowichan Watershed Society (the Society) is a non-profit Society founded in 2014 to provide financial and administrative support for the work of the Cowichan Watershed Board.
The Society is governed by a Board of Directors that is a sub-set of the current Cowichan Watershed Board (CWB) membership. All CWB members are invited to the Society Board but not all are able to accept the additional responsibility; approximately half of the CWB members currently serve on the Society Board. Society Directors include both elected representatives from Cowichan Tribes and local governments, as well as appointees with watershed expertise.
Meetings of the CWS generally follow immediately after the CWB meetings to implement any financial or legal decisions of the Board.
